When the band starts playing, four voices blend in 
harmony and bring the presence of the Lord into the 
venue. A solitary figure sits in the back of the 
room. A big man, with a big heart working the board 
and enhancing the sound quality. You might not know 
it when you first meet him, but Jerry Forrester is 
the root of the Joymasters. Forty one years ago, the 
legacy began with four voices, and of the original 
four, Jerry has remained constant.  When asked what 
his major musical influences have been, his reply 
is simply, "all gospel music". 

Why does he continue to manage the group after 41 
years? It's an undeniable love of travel and a 
passion for gospel ministry. But, most importantly, 
to be a witness of the countless lives that have 
been changed and souls that have been saved as the 
Joymasters spread the word of God through their 
music.
